This
Sanctuary shelters anywhere from 250 to 300 abandoned cats. On Yearly
basis more then 600 cats! We are an international group of volunteers
who work together to raise the quality of life of Rome's abandoned cats.
We look for people who are outgoing and self starters. Volunteers should
be open to rolling up their sleeves and jumping in where needed. We have
the following openings:
• Cleaning and taking care of the
cats
This includes cleaning cages, distributing food and treating sick cats.
• Administrative help
We also need people to help with clerical work such as stuffing envelopes,
making photocopies and various other administrative tasks.
• Tourguides
We look for people who are able to speak to the many tourists who visit,
giving a tour of the sanctuary (mostly English speakers) and eventually
asking for contributions.
•We
need "Foster Parents" fast!
If you're already living in Rome, you can become a "Foster Parent".
You'll take care of the very young kittens in your own house. This way
we can prevent the kittens getting sick (only 50% of the young kittens
survive staying at Torre Argentina). Especially in the spring we have
many abandoned kittens and are in need of volunteers!
If you are available to temporarily care for young abandoned kittens in
your own home, please contact us: Tel: 0039 06 687 2133 or email us:torreargentina@tiscali.it
Most
of our funding comes from passersby and is channeled into neuter/spay
programs. Public relations and education projects are also important to
us as our popularity grows along with the number of cats left on our doorstep.
(654 Last year).
Housing
is available for approximately $400/$450 a month. This usually consists
of a nice room in someone’s apartment.
If you are interested to work with us, we would be happy to know more
about you and answer any further questions you may have.
Please send a Curriculum Vitae (if you have one) to:
